Pont d'Espagne is a stone-built bridge that spans the Gave de Marcadau at the point where it meets the Gave de Gaube, near one of its sources high in the French Pyrenees. It is a protected area of the Pyrénées in the Pyrénées National Park. This peculiar bridge and its bubbling waterfalls, evoke the romantic spirit of the Pyrenees, like only the mountains can do it. The name translates as Spain's, and at an altitude of approximately 1500m (4921ft) it was in the past use to join Spain and France through the mountains.
